Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween! We had a wonderful time on Halloween night.

The trick-or-treaters started coming at 3:15. We were down to our last three bags of candy by about 4:45 (and I had about 17 bags!!!). It was, as usual, insane! Luckily Jane was here to help. Sophie was really interested in all the kids - she kept running to the couch to look out the window and was ready to go out and join in as soon as she could.

So we got her and Clara all dolled up and I sent them out with Nate and Grandma Jane. Sophie knew what she was doing but was too shy to say "trick or treat". At least she said "thank you" even if it was whispered and on her way down the steps of each house. Clara fell promptly to sleep.

Nate tried all sorts of dry ice experiments which thrilled Sophie and Chloe. He had to settle for this spooky cauldron since his leg limited him this year. But just wait til next year - apparently a lake of fire is in the works for the front yard.

And we made hamburger stew, Brain Hemmorhage shots and had store-bought treats. Dave and Sarah (aka, Maude) came over as did Chloe and Jonathan (aka, Minnie and Mickey Mouse) and their parents. It was super fun to have everyone over! And after our mini-party, we headed over to our neighbors house for a real party which was fabulous too! We wore Sophie out but it was a wonderful day!
