And we have a two-year-old. Yay!
This morning, I took Clara out for a cupcake date, just us two.
We ate it near a little playable fountain on Marion Street. She was having the time of her life. Chocolate! Sprinkles! Water! But then it went so very wrong: She made her lion go swimming and got upset when he ended up wet. Then, after she was calmed down from that, she tripped and skinned her knee. Poor baby!
A new dress and some swinging made everything better. She was especially excited to show her new dress off to Sophie.
Both girls helped me decorate the cake.
The sprinkles were their doing, FYI.
Sophie got Clara a present too and she was very excited to give it to her. She wouldn't let us wait so Clara got to open one present early.
It was her very own Rapunzel doll, just like Sophie's... minus the tangled (ha!) hair. Sophie tried to get Clara to trade dolls so that she could have the new one. What a sweet big sister...
Clara was ready to eat the cake...
until we tried to sing "Happy Birthday" to her.
Don't worry - she recovered just fine once she got some sugar.
I made a point of getting Clara some non-princess presents. Both girls love this tool bench but still managed to make it girly. Clara put her Rapunzel doll on top and said, "She's in the tower!" And Sophie took the pliers and gave her puppy a manicure.
