We had a visit from the Binky Fairy last night. Miss Sophie has been begging for a real Rapunzel dress for a while now. We told her she could have one for her birthday in July. Then she remembered that the Binky Fairy would bring her a present if she gave up her binkies - bingo! So it was completely her idea and we went along with it. She was only using her bink at night anyway so we were in no hurry to push this on her. But since she wanted to make the trade, we accommodated it. True to her internalizer nature, it took her several days of practice to go through with it - for 4 or 5 days, we've put the binkies out on the porch only to have her change her mind at bedtime. But last night, she went through with it. She fell asleep and slept all night without them so in the morning there was a Rapunzel bag with a fancy Rapunzel dress and flashy Rapunzel shoes waiting for her. She had to put it on right away and spin around. And she told me that she is going to wear it for the next four days straight. At least.
